9 Dessert Recipes from the ’50s That Still Hold Up Today

There’s something about desserts from the 1950s that just hits differently.

Maybe it’s the unapologetic use of whipped cream, or the fact that no one back then was afraid of a little Jell-O.

These were the treats that showed up at church potlucks, backyard cookouts, and your grandma’s kitchen table, and somehow, they’ve managed to stick around.

Why?

Because they’re actually good.

Sure, some vintage recipes can feel a little…questionable (we’re looking at you, tuna Jell-O salad), but when it comes to sweets, the ’50s knew what they were doing.

Here are 9 dessert recipes that have stood the test of time and are still totally worth making today.
