When it comes to their foods, some people are just picky eaters. It’s surprising how certain popular foods can be so divisive. Some of these foods are very popular in a lot of cultures and locations but aren’t necessarily popular in all places or amongst all people.

While many people love them, others can’t stand the taste, texture, or even the idea of eating them.

Here are some surprising foods that some people just can’t stand.

Dragonfruit

Ever had dragonfruit and wondered what the fuss is about? It looks exotic, but many find it tasteless and not worth the hype. For some, it’s like eating a watery nothing.

Raisins are a classic snack, but they’re surprisingly divisive. Some people can’t stand the chewy texture and intense sweetness. For them, raisins ruin everything from cookies to salads.

Stuffing

Stuffing is a holiday staple that not everyone loves. The mix of bread, herbs, and random add-ins can be a turn-off. Some people just don’t get the appeal of soggy bread.

Celery

Celery has a strong, distinct flavor that doesn’t sit well with everyone. Its fibrous texture and mild bitterness can be off-putting, especially if you’re not a fan of its crunchy, watery taste.

Turkey

Turkey might be the centerpiece of many festive meals, but it’s often seen as dry and bland. For a lot of people, turkey is just a once-a-year obligation for tradition’s sake.

Avocados

Avocados are the darling of the health food world, but they don’t win everyone over. Some dislike their creamy texture and subtle flavor, finding them overrated and mushy.

Mushrooms

Mushrooms have a unique texture and earthy taste that can be polarizing. Their slightly rubbery feel and strong flavor aren’t for everyone.

Black pudding, or blood sausage, is a breakfast favorite for some but a hard pass for others. The idea of eating blood mixed with oats and spices is just too much for some.

Eggnog

Eggnog is a holiday treat that’s either loved or loathed. The rich, creamy texture and strong nutmeg flavor can be too much, making it a holiday no-go for some.

Arugula is a leafy green with a peppery kick that doesn’t appeal to everyone. Its bold flavor can overpower a salad, leaving some wishing for milder greens.

Sweet potatoes are super healthy and naturally sweet, but not everyone is on board. Some find them too sweet for a savory dish like french fries or a baked potato and prefer “regular” potatoes instead.

Beans are a staple in many diets, but their texture and sometimes bland taste can be off-putting. Some people avoid them despite their nutritional benefits.
