1. Kitchen Knobs Don’t Have Recipe Settings

The numbers on your stovetop burner don’t correlate directly to cooking terms like “low,” “medium,” or “high.” Instead, cooking temperature often requires adjustments throughout the process. For instance, adding a cold ingredient lowers the pan’s temperature, so you may need to increase the heat temporarily. Similarly, as water boils off, the pan can rapidly get hotter, so don’t hesitate to dial down the heat when needed.

2. Recipes Aren’t Always Right
