Everyone wants to be healthier (or at least I assume so). One of the most important ways to be healthier is to eat healthy foods and get the vitamins and nutrients you need from food. You should try to include these healthy foods in your diet as much as possible.

It is in everyone’s best interest to eat healthier foods if they want to live long and healthy lives. Here are some of the most nutritious foods that everyone should include in their diet.

Leafy Greens

Green leafy vegetables such as Swiss chards, bok choy, spinach, and kale, for example, render a good supply of vitamin K, which can be highly beneficial for blood flow and arteries.

Avocadoes are not only delicious, but they are also highly nutritious and can lower the risk of LDL cholesterol.

Fatty Fish

Fish such as tuna, sardines, and mackerel are laced with omega-3 fatty acids, which can play a role in improving heart health.

Beans

Beans are a great food to consume, as they are a cheap source of protein, and they are also loaded with nutrients such as potassium and B vitamins. Furthermore, they are also high in fiber, which is great for digestion.

Whole Grains

Whole grains such as oats, rye, barley, buckwheat, rice, and quinoa, to name a few, are far better choices than refined carbs as they are loaded with fiber and other nutrients, including iron, B vitamins, magnesium, and zinc.

Dates

Dates are great if you are craving something sweet. As opposed to candy and processed sugary foods, they are packed with potassium, which can help manage healthy blood pressure levels.

Pineapple

Pineapple is enriched with vitamin C, which supports the heart by fighting free radicals. Essentially, this means that it helps fight molecules that may damage heart cells.

Almonds may be high in fat, but compared to fried food, the fat they contain is unsaturated, which is good for your heart health.

Garlic

Garlic contains health-promoting enzymes such as organosulfur compounds, which are known to render antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticarcinogenic, and antiangiogenic effects on the body.

Mushies are one of the few food sources that are high in vitamin D, which can aid in the prevention of heart ailments such as heart attacks.

Berries

Besides being delicious and refreshing, berries contain a lot of antioxidants and high vitamin C levels, which may reduce cholesterol and blood pressure while lowering oxidative stress.

Peanut Butter

Peanut butter is not only indulgent, but it also contains relatively high levels of unsaturated fats, which, much like almonds and other nuts, are great for heart health. This food is, however, high in calories, so be sure you don’t go overboard when consuming this food. A spoonful of peanut butter a day is great to add healthy fats and a bit of protein to your diet!

Brussels sprouts, aka mini-cabbages, are loaded with antioxidants and fiber, which can aid blood sugar levels, as well as heart health.
