10 Beers American Boomers Can’t Stop Guzzling

Each generation has its favorites when it comes to everything from apps to restaurants. They have clear preferences for certain beers as well.

Boomers, Gen Xers, and Millenials each have favorite beers that are their go-to beverage for a night out. Now, we know which beer is the favorite for specific age groups. 

Treating your favorite boomer to a beer or stocking up for a party? According to Visual Capitalist, these are the most popular beers for boomers. Choose one of these, and you’re bound to have their favorite on hand!

The “popularity” metric represents the % of people who had a positive opinion of that beer. Note that YouGov surveys are conducted with a representative sample of 1,500 respondents.

Guinness – 49

The most popular beer amongst boomers, with a popularity metric of 49, was Guinness. 

Guinness, a traditional Irish stout, originated from Arthur Guinness’s brewery in Dublin, Ireland, during the 18th century. Its production involves barley, hops, water, and a unique strain of ale yeast. The signature deep color and rich caramelized flavor are the results of roasted barley.

Heineken – 48

Heineken came in second with a score of 48. 

Heineken Lager Beer is a 5% alcohol-content Dutch pale lager produced by the Dutch brewery Heineken N.V.

Corona – 48

Corona tied for second place with a score of 48.

Corona is a Mexican brand of beer. It is the top-selling imported beer brand in the United States. The mash bill recipe includes corn, barley malt, and hops that are traditionally used for beer.

Samuel Adams – 46

Coors – 43

The Coors Brewing Company is an American brewery. It was first brewed in 1873, and over the years, it has become one of America’s best-known beers.

Miller – 38

Miller scored a popularity score of 38. 

The Miller Brewing Company, an American brewery and beer company, is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and was established in 1855 by Frederick Miller.

Michelob Light – 38

Michelob Light has a popularity score of 38. 

Michelob is a pale lager with a 4.7% ABV. It was crafted by Adolphus Busch in 1896 and marketed as a “draught beer for connoisseurs.”

Miller Lite – 37

This is an interesting pick for Boomers produced by Heineken-owned Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma Brewery. The brand gained popularity for its “most interesting man in the world” commercials, which ran from 2006 to 2018.

Stella Artois – 37

Stella Artois is the last one on our list, with a score of 37. 

Stella Artois is a pilsner beer originally brewed in 1926 by Brouwerij Artois in Leuven, Belgium. The beer has an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 5.2 percent, which is the standard for pilsners in the country.
