What kind of beer do you like? Americans love beer, but every generation likes different kinds of beer, and the difference is quite remarkable.

Whether you are part of the Boomer generation, Gen X, or a millennial- you might find yourself grabbing a different type of beer from the shelf. Gen X strongly prefers foreign beers, particularly Guinness.

According to Visual Capitalist, these are the most popular beers for  Gen X- the term we usually use to describe those born between  1965 and 1980, although the definition may vary. So, if you are shopping for someone who is part of the Gen X generation, you might want to grab one of these on hand!

The “popularity” metric represents the % of people who had a positive opinion of that beer. Note that YouGov surveys are conducted with a representative sample of 1,500 respondents. The number next to each beer listed below is the popularity score.

Guinness- 57

But Guiness only had a popularity score of 49 as opposed to the whopping 57% of Gen Xers who said they prefer Guiness. Guinness, a traditional Irish stout, originated from Arthur Guinness’s brewery in Dublin, Ireland, during the 18th century. It’s interesting to note that over 31 million Americans claim to be of Irish descent.

Some foods can be fine well past that date, but others don’t, and consuming them can lead to food poisoning, a trip to the hospital, or worse. Following are some foods you should never consume after they expire.
